Create a Light and Airy Hallway

The hallway is the first impression guests have of your home, so making it light and airy can set a welcoming tone. Here are five ways to achieve this:

1. Install Internal Doors with Glass Panels

If your hallway lacks natural light, consider using internal doors with glass panels. These doors allow light to flow through from adjacent rooms, creating a brighter space. Adding sidelights to your front door can also enhance natural light.

We have an extensive range of modern glazed pre hung pre finished door sets at no extra cost than regular wooden doors.

2. Opt for Light Paint Colors

Choose light-colored paint for your hallway walls, such as white or soft neutrals. Avoid dark colors and matte finishes, as they can make the space feel smaller and darker. You can introduce color through accents like rugs or artwork to keep the space from feeling too clinical.

We have a wide range of colours available in laminate and paint finishes in all our door sets.

3. Choose Bright Flooring

The flooring in your hallway should be both durable and light-reflecting. Bright or light wood options, like ash or white oak laminate, can make the area feel more spacious and welcoming.

We also have an extensive range of 8mm, 10mm and 12mm hardwearing laminates available in several colours as well as engineered and herringbone flooring.

4. Use Mirrors Strategically

Mirrors are a great way to reflect light and create the illusion of more space. Placing a mirror on one side of the hallway can help to maximize the available light, making the area feel larger.

5. Incorporate Effective Lighting

When natural light is limited, using artificial lighting is essential. Consider adding spotlights along the floor or stairs for a subtle glow. Overhead lighting, along with table lamps on a console table, can also enhance the brightness of your hallway.

By implementing these strategies, you can transform your hallway into a bright, airy space that leaves a lasting impression on your guests.
