The story of P&M Contemporary Doors began during a trip to Krakow, where Paul discovered a standard of joinery that simply didn’t exist back home. In a local hardware store, he found high-quality, pre-hung, and pre-finished door sets – complete systems including frames, architraves, hinges, and locks.
At the time, the Irish market was limited; no matter where you looked, the styles were repetitive and the buying process was fragmented. Paul recognized that these all-in-one Polish door sets offered a “complete solution” that was both more stylish and more cost-effective than traditional options. Driven by the belief that Irish homeowners deserved better choice and convenience, he founded P&M to bring that exceptional quality and modern design to every corner of the country.
Determined to bring this innovation to Ireland, Paul established a direct partnership with DRE, Poland’s leading door manufacturer. This collaboration ensured that P&M Contemporary Doors would supply only top-quality, factory-finished products.
Following several trips to finalize the agreement, P&M Contemporary Doors Ltd was established with a sole focus on importing premium Polish doors and accessories. This hard work led to the creation of a modern showroom in Tenure Business Park, which was set to launch on March 13, 2020—the exact day the national COVID-19 lockdown began.
Undeterred by the pandemic, they pivoted to online sales, using Facebook to reach customers across Ireland, with some of their first sales in Portlaoise, Tralee, and Belmullet. Today, P&M Contemporary Doors boasts nearly 19,000 Facebook followers, a number that continues to grow.
In February 2022, the company expanded to a larger, more advanced showroom at Unit 1, Lakeside Business Park, Mooretown, Dromiskin, Co. Louth. This new location not only offers a brighter, more inviting space for customers but also significantly increased storage capacity, allowing us to better serve our clients.
