The journey of P&M Contemporary Doors began when Paul and Mirek first met, and Mirek shared his knowledge of the exceptional quality and competitive pricing of doors available in Poland. Inspired by this conversation, Paul visited Krakow during a holiday and took the opportunity to explore a large hardware store. There, he discovered pre-hung, pre-finished door sets that could easily fill a gap in the Irish market. Unlike traditional doors, these sets come fitted complete with a frame, architrave, hinges, and lock, offering a more convenient and cost-effective solution for customers.
Recognizing the potential, Paul and Mirek established a company to import and sell these door sets in Ireland. Mirek, leveraging his connections, reached out directly to DRE, Poland’s leading door manufacturer, securing a partnership that would supply P&M Contemporary Doors with top-quality products.
Following several trips to Poland, Paul and Mirek secured an agreement with DRE Doors and established P&M Contemporary Doors Ltd, focusing exclusively on importing doors and related products from Poland. Their hard work culminated in the creation of a modern showroom in Tenure Business Park, which was scheduled to open on March 13, 2020—coinciding with the onset of the COVID-19 lockdown
Undeterred by the pandemic, they pivoted to online sales, using Facebook to reach customers across Ireland, with some of their first sales in Portlaoise, Tralee, and Belmullet. Today, P&M Contemporary Doors boasts nearly 14,000 Facebook followers, a number that continues to grow.
In February 2022, the company expanded to a larger, more advanced showroom at Unit 1, Lakeside Business Park, Mooretown, Dromiskin, Co. Louth. This new location not only offers a brighter, more inviting space for customers but also significantly increased storage capacity, allowing us to better serve our clients.
